The Netherlands

Yakub while experimenting created the Dutch. Initially being just another nationality to be indoctrinated by the Romans, Charlemagne and the Habsburgs. However those ppl were different. They fought long wars, remained revolutionary even in exile, started forging land out of water and even defined the economy with the Dutch East India Company and its first ever implementation of stock trading with the help of involuntary volunteers

Its creator

Stille Willem also known by his real name Willem Van Oranje-Nassau was a boy born in Germany who as his name implies was was prince of Orange (small piece of territory in France) and duke of Nassau (piece of the Holy Roman Empire). He eventually becoming the governor of 3 provinces in the Netherlands (Zeeland, Utrecht & Holland). While he was born Martin Luther wrote fuck the Church, which caused a rift of Christianity in Europe causing some ppl to larp varg vikernes before he even existed. Destroying churches left and right. This mostly happened in Flanders, and spread up north. Willem was very fond of this because he supported a weird thing back then known as religious freedom. He betrayed the Habsburgs and decided to start a war for independence that lasted 80+ years. Long story short while the first battles were complete disasters for those who were against the Habsburgs and made Willem lose many brothers, however later successes not only in battle, but also with the help of the VOC and Calvinist pirates. aided the rebellion and made them stable enough to actually fight the Habsburgs. Big W. Got slimed out by a Frenchmen but his son achieved major victories after his dad’s death by recreating Troje in the city of Breda with some ships and reconquering the eastern provinces before a 12 year long armistice. After important cities in the south such as Den Bosch were reconquered as well the treaty of Münster was signed which garantued Dutch independence.

Why did they eat the prime minister?

Because of a lack of king and a direct ancestor to the dead one the Dutch decided to govern without one in the form of a republic. The government of this republic was divided into 2 parts. The governors which wanted to remain loyal (if they werent already part of) the family of Oranje-Nassau and prefered being busy with military stuff and the estate-general which functioned more like a classical government. These two parts weren’t in power at the same time though, just like how is normal today they were taking terms with ruling. Johan de Witt (grand pensionary, which basically meant ruler). Was a member of the estate-general faction who wrote several treaties where in it was stated that the child Willem III was not to become governor of the republic forever. And he even abolished the entire role of governor itself. Unfortunately his country then got attacked from 3 sides by Sweden, England and France. Which was a disaster for the Dutch people, who blamed Johan for the sudden attacks and demanded a new leader. Willem III became governor after the disastrous invasions which got the original treaties that prohibited Willem from becoming a powerful figure in the government. This stirred up the orangists who decided that it was time to kill Johan. He essentially was just stabbed on the streets but he survived that. Then his brother got send to prison because of rumors about him conspiring to kill the governor. When Johan picked up his brothe from prison, the two got dragged onto the streets, killed, mutilated, castrated and cannibalized.

Was Belgium a part of the Netherlands?

As mentioned previously the initial uprising against the Habsburgs that created the Netherlands started in Antwerp (who among other current belgian provinces signed the act of abjucarion), however because of the treaty of Münster and the front lines of the war Flanders was not to become part of the Netherlands due to them being conquered by the Spanish.

However after the Napoleonic wars at the congress of Vienna Willem I (king and ruler of the Netherlands after the Napoleon of war and long after Willem III’s death, yes ik that’s confusing but fuck your I don’t make history) he wasn’t only offered to become king, but king of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, which basically United the Netherlands and Belgium under the Orange throne. However Willem I made reforms that did not satisfy the Belgians at all and so they declared independence which caused a war the Dutch were winning in the first 10 days until France decided to support the Belgians.
